case marker

case marker: a particle suffixed to a noun to indicate the role it plays in a sentence; also called a postposition. The Sumerian case markers are: -Ø: zero ending (abs.); -e: -by (erg.); -ak: of (gen.); -a: -in/at (loc.); -ra: to/for (personal) (dat.) ; -e: to/or (impersonal) (dir.); -šè: -to/toward (term.); -da: with (com.); -ta: from/by means of (abl.); -gin7: like (equ.).
